Individual User Features

The ‘Members’ feature allows users to personalise the interface for themselves. Each member can upload profile information, showcase their photos in the Photos areas, and keep in touch with other family members and friends by looking at the User Lists.

Family Members Area

The Family Members Area is where users can find a list of other members using your software.

Profiles

The Profiles area is where members can display an image and additional information about themselves. It is a simple way for members to keep in touch online.

Photos Area

Each personal profile consists of a Photos Area. This can be used as a personal gallery where members can choose to display their photos and other images to the rest of the users.

Communal Features

The Communal Features allow all family members and friends to interact and engage with each other. This generates a strong and cohesive sense of community online between all members.

Members can view common news and announcements or contribute to topic or threads in the discussion forums. Members can also use the Communal Features to access resources, photos, documents, and any other desired information or useful links.

Login

The Omnium Software is protected with a secure Login/Logout protocol.

Welcome

The Welcome page provides a brief explanatory statement or a greeting to all members using your Family software.

Announcements

This area shows announcements posted by the Administrator that are related to every day news, events and activities. These can also be auto-emailed to users or generate an RSS feed.

Discussion Forums

Within Discussion Forums, members can create, comment or contribute to any number of topics of discussion. These can be subscribed to individually by members or generate an RSS feed.

Calendar

Birthdays, celebrations, important dates or other social events can be added to the interactive calendar. Members can view more details by clicking on the event.

Photos

Photos are public viewing spaces where selected photos and other multimedia are showcased online for members.

Documents

The Documents area is where users can find information posted for download, such as family history documents, contact lists, event brochures and invitations or other relevant information.

Links

In this area, useful and relevant URL’s are available for all members. Any member of the community can offer suggested links so long as the administrator approves them.

Locations

This area helps all family members to locate different destinations, wether it’s someone’s address, an event or a gathering. Maps and images can be enlarged and printed by any member.

Team Features (Full version)

Your family may wish to divide their members into different teams or family groups. Within each team or family group, members can read notices and keep in touch in their own private area.

Team Lists

This is a list of all teams and their members within your Family software.

Team Notices

Each team’s administrator can post regular notices and announcements to all teams or just their specific team.

Other Member’s Profiles

In this area, team members can get to know more personal information about each other by viewing each other’s individual personal profiles.

Team Galeries

This area is for team members to upload and share photos and other multimedia within their team.

Team Discussion Forums

This is an area where team members can contribute to discussions about specific issues, upcoming events and other topics related to their team.

Live Features ^*

Catch up with how other team members are getting on, organise up coming events or discuss the latest news using the Omnium Live features. The Live Features enable members to quickly and easily keep in touch through real-time, text-based conversations.

Time Information

This feature enables members to pinpoint the local time of others in the online community.

Users Online

The Users Online tool informs members who else is currently online within the community at a glance.

Chat Information and Invitations ^*

Users can check the chat status of other members or invite other users to the live chat room.

Using the Chat feature allows members to keep in touch with each other through real-time text-based conversations.
