The Omnium Secondary Features enable the Omnium Software to perform as a strong and effective e-learning tool for secondary study programs. This tool not only assists with the progress of online interaction, discussion, collaboration and assessment but also allows students and teachers to communicate with ease and transparency.
Regardless of the location of students and teachers, they can view news and announcements; contribute to discussion boards; stay in touch via live chat; and access lecture notes and readings in any multimedia format.
With this NEW and highly functional Omnium Software your students can be provided with a personal and interactive online learning experience that supplements the classroom environment.
Designed to be intuitive, simple and easy to navigate, the Secondary Features are divided into four main categories - Individual User Features, Communal Features, Team Features (Full Version) and Live Features (Full Version).
The Individual User Features allow teachers and students to personalise the interface for themselves. Each user can upload profile information, showcase their work or other documents in the Portfolio areas, and find their peers online by exploring the Student Lists.
The Omnium Software incorporates many Communal Features where students and teachers can directly interact and engage with each other within the e-learning environment.
Students can view common news and announcements, such as a change in an assignment deadline, or excursion location. Students can contribute to topics or threads in the discussion forums - a great way to facilitate collaboration, continue classroom discussions or to provide support during exam periods. Students can also use the Communal Features to access readings, references, policy documents, photos, timetables, contact lists, or useful links.
The Welcome page provides a brief explanatory statement about the school or education program to any student, lecturer, teacher or visitor.
This area shows news and announcements posted by the teacher, staff member or administrator that are related with day-to-day classroom activities. These can also be auto-emailed to students or generate an RSS feed.
Within Discussion Forums, students can create, comment or contribute to any number of topics of discussion. These can be subscribed to individually by students or generate an RSS feed.
Galleries are public viewing spaces where students in the online community can showcase selected photos and other images.
This is an area where students can find information posted for download in relation to class activities such as project briefs, topic outlines, curriculums and other information.
This is where teachers and lecturers can upload current briefs, outcomes and marking criteria in relation to the assessments for a class subject.
Most schools have students divided into year groups or small classes. The Team Features enable groups of students to have a space to communicate, collaborate and exchange ideas in a private area. This is ideal in creating separate year groups, individual glasses, teams for group work, or after school activities.
This is a list of all year groups, classes or teams and their members within the online community.
The teacher, staff member or administrator can post regular notices and announcements to all year groups or just their year.
In this area, students can get to know each other on a more personal level by viewing each other's individual personal profiles.
This space is used for works in progress and final works produced by a year group, class or team to be displayed and reviewed solely with their team members.
The Live Features enable students and teachers in different locations to chat, exchange ideas or feedback and collaborate in real-time. These live features foster both a unique, personal and interactive online learning environment and cohesive working relationships between teachers and students.
* Chat Room features are Full Version only
As students and teachers may be located regionally or worldwide, this feature enables users to pinpoint the local time of others in the school community
The Users Online tool informs users of who is currently online within the community at a glance.
The Omnium Software enables you to customise your interface by choosing from a variety of classic and modern templates, each available in a new range of colours.
The Omnium design team can also custom build a unique aesthetic to match your visual identity.
